A recent review by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) of standard form contracts issued by a number of telecommunication companies, found that such contracts included terms that allowed the business to vary the contract without the customers’ consent.

The ACCC highlighted such terms as unfair and as a result, four telcos, including Telstra and TPG, have altered the terms of their contracts.

Without disclosing names, the ACCC also noted it was considering launching court action against non-complying businesses.
