The Shield: December 2022

In our last Newsletter for 2022, General Manager Bev Jowle recounts the highlights of 2022, the AGM, new board, advocacy work, and thanks the team for their stellar work this year.

Senior Solicitor Rowan Kelly is happy to provide an update with a look at the much-needed BNPL reform. Rowan also highlights the relationship building with community sector organisations and thanks the team for all their work in supporting the many clients CCLSWA have assisted this year.

Solicitors Colm and David attended the FCAWA conference in November and facilitated a workshop on Law Reform to Lighten the Load.

We share NEW Factsheets on SACCs (payday loans) and consumer lease reform created by CCLSWA, and a First Nations Toolkit developed by YFS Community Legal Centre in Queensland.
We sign off with some holiday reading recommendations along with holiday wishes ahead of our office closure. We reopen on 9 January 2023.
