A recent report conducted by the Centre for Social Impact has found that the number of Australians who are severely restricted or excluded from obtaining financial services has increased since 2010. The report warned that many financially excluded Australians need credit to meet everyday expenses and consequently an increasing number may turn to fringe providers. The affordability of financial products was found to be a main factor towards the financial exclusion of many Australians.
