The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has recently updated its ScamWatch website to include twelve additional languages.

Scam information is now available in Arabic, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Scammers can target people from all walks of life and backgrounds, so it is important that you know how to protect yourself.

CCLSWA has received a number of calls in the past from people who have been scammed, including through Romance Scams. Australians lost over $20 million in 2015 in these types of scams.

If you think you may have been scammed please call the CCLSWA telephone advice line on (08) 9221 7066 for a free, confidential discussion about some of the steps you might be able to take.
