Scams Prevention Framework – exposure draft legislation

CCLS welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the Government’s proposed Scams Prevention Framework (SPF) as part of a joint submission with leading consumer organisations. The Treasury Laws Amendment Bill 2024 aims to strengthen protections against scams, ensuring businesses take responsibility for preventing, detecting, and disrupting fraudulent activity.

Collaboration is key in tackling scams, and we are proud to join Consumer Action Law Centre, CHOICE, ACCAN, Financial Rights Legal Centre, Super Consumers Australia, Financial Counselling Australia, WEstjustice, and the Consumer Policy Research Centre in advocating for strong, clear protections that hold businesses accountable.
