The submission highlights the urgent need for robust scam prevention measures to protect consumers from financial harm.
Our key recommendations include:
- Ensuring that regulated entities compensate scam victims if they fail to meet their obligations under the framework.
- Placing the burden of proof on regulated entities to demonstrate compliance with the framework.
- Establishing clear principles for apportioning liability among regulated entities to ensure victims are fully compensated.
We believe these measures are crucial for creating a safer financial environment for all Australians.
