Joint Consumer Submission – Scams Prevention Framework Consultation (December 2025)

Joint Consumer Submission – Scams Prevention Framework Consultation (December 2025)

CCLS joined with consumer advocacy organisations to provide input and endorsement to a joint consumer submission on the Federal Government’s consultation on the Scams Prevention Framework.

Drawing on our frontline casework, including our Telephone Advice Line, our contribution highlights the significant financial and emotional harm caused by scams, particularly for consumers experiencing vulnerability.

The submission calls for stronger and enforceable scam prevention obligations on banks, telecommunications providers and digital platforms, alongside fair and accessible dispute resolution and compensation pathways for scam victims.
