On 12 September 2016, ASIC released a report on the sale of add-on insurance through car dealers.

The report found the following:

CCLSWA has been a strong advocate for reform in the area of add-on products sold through car dealers, and has recently raised this issue in its Joint Submission to the Independent Review of the Code of Banking Practice; and its submission to the Australian Consumer Law review.
